Joanna Siekiera

Joanna Siekiera is an international lawyer, Doctor of Public Policy Sciences from Poland. She works at the Faculty of Law, the University of Bergen, Norway. She was a scholarship holder at the Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand. Her specialization is legal and political relations in the South Pacific, and the law of armed conflict. In the Bergen Pacific Studies Research Group her responsibility is legal advising, and research on legal consequences of ocean change.

Joanna is the author of over 80 scientific publications in several languages, co-author of 3 monographs and presenter of seminars i.a. in Canada, France, Georgia, Great Britain, and Russia. She worked in the Polish diplomatic missions, as a LEGAD in international military exercises, and a lecturer. She completed i.a. the UN CIMIC school, School of Humanitarian Law in Russia, Institute of Cultural Diplomacy in Germany, and the French Institute of International and Strategic Affairs.
