Dr Usman Isyaku is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Psychosocial Science, University of Bergen, Norway. He received his undergraduate degree in Geography from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria, as well as Master of Science in Global Environmental Change and Doctor of Philosophy in Human Geography from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom. Dr Isyaku's research is focused broadly on environment and development in the context of climate change policy processes in Africa. His postdoctoral research is investigating climate risk perceptions, as well as mental models of climate change mitigation and adaptation among vulnerable coastal communities in west Africa. He published a few journal articles in the areas of natural resources management and forest-based climate change policy implementation in Nigeria (REDD+).
