Course in HSE risk assessment and Safe Job Analysis (SJA)

This course is relevant for anyone who wants to do risk assessments related to HSE, including technical/administrative staff and researchers, and is particularly relevant for line managers, HSE coordinators and safety delegates.

Hovedinnhold

HSE risk assessments are risk assessments that shall be carried out related to HSE and the working environment. They shall be carried out regularly and as part of the unit's systematic HSE work.

In the course, you will learn how to carry out an HSE risk assessment, and after the course you should be able to carry out a risk assessment using UiB's template.

  • You will be introduced to legal requirements and what is expected of the units at UiB when it comes to mapping hazards and problems and assessing risk at the unit.
  • You will get an introduction to risk and risk analysis, as well as associated terms, and will learn how to specify probability and consequence for using a risk matrix.
  • The course will provide a brief introduction to working environment areas and hazards that may be relevant to consider in a risk assessment.
  • In addition, the course will provide an introduction to Safe Job Analysis (SJA), which is a very simple risk assessment for a single work task or activity.
  • Parts of the course consist of practical work in groups, where you practice carrying out HSE risk assessment and SJA on cases.

The course consists of:

Part 1 - Theory

  • What is risk assessment?
  • HSE risk assessment
  • Safe Job Analysis (SJA)
  • Tools: use of the various templates

Part 2 - Case

  • The participants are divided into groups and carry out an HSE risk assessment and an SJA based on a case.

Target group: This course is relevant for anyone who wants to do risk assessments related to HSE, including technical/administrative staff and researchers, and is particularly relevant for line managers, HSE coordinators and safety delegates.

Max number of participants per course: 20 participants, you will receive an invitation before the start of the course.
