Retningslinjer for bruk av spesialpensum i ph.d.-grader ved Kjemisk institutt

Opplæringsdelen omfatter minst 30 stp og skal utformes slik at den sammen med arbeidet med avhandlingen og tidligere utdanning gir den nødvendige faglige bredde og fordypning i forskerutdanningen. Forskerutdanningsutvalget ved Kjemisk institutt oppfordrer til at opplæringsdelen i størst mulig grad benytter regulære emner ved eget og andre institutter samt nasjonale og internasjonale forskerkurs.

For å få den nødvendige fordypning kan man benytte opptil 10 stp i opplæringsdelen til fagspesifikt spesialpensum, med mulighet for å gå utover dette når særlige forhold tilsier så. Spesialpensa skal være definert ved skriftlige kilder og ha et faglig nivå tilsvarende regulære emner på 200-tall eller høyere. 

Kurs krediteres med hele studiepoeng etter ECTS-normering, ett (1) studiepoeng per 25-30 timers arbeid (inkludert selvstudium og eksamen). Kurs som gir mindre enn ett studiepoeng (<25 timer) godkjennes ikke, og flere mindre kurs kan ikke slåes sammen. Halve poeng tildeles ikke.

Alle spesialpensa til doktorgrad skal vurderes i karakterskalaen A-F. Alle spesialpensa til doktorgrad skal være godkjent i Forskerutdanningsutvalget før de gjennomføres. Søknadsskjemaet ligger vedlagt nederst på denne nettsiden. 

Guidelines for use of special syllabus in the PhD degree at the Department of Chemistry

The training component comprises at least 30 credits and should be composed such that, together with the research project, it complements the former academic education to give the academic versatility and profundity required for a research education. The Board for Doctoral Education at the Department of Chemistry advocates that the training component should be made up as far as possible from regular courses, internal courses at the Faculty, and national and international research courses.

To obtain the required academic training for the PhD project, 10 credits of the training component can be used for an academically relevant special syllabus. The number of credits involved can be expanded under special circumstances.  The special syllabus must be defined from written references and the academic level must be at least on the 200-level or higher as for regular courses. 

Courses are credited with full credits according to ECTS standardization, one (1) credit per 25-30 hours of work (including self-study and exam). Courses that give less than one credit (<25 hours) is not approved, and several smaller courses cannot be combined. Half credits will not be awarded.

All special syllabi for the PhD degree must be graded in the grading scale A-F. All special syllabi for the PhD degree must be approved by the Board for Doctoral Education before execution. The application form is presented at the bottom of this web page.
