Reserve the date! UiB’s Climate and Energy Transition theme is organizing a breakfast seminar in Egget, focusing on sustainable area management. The program consists of three presentations, followed by a panel discussion about the main theme - Sustainable area management.

UiB’s Climate and Energy Transition is organising a breakfast seminar on sustainable area management.
The doors open at 08:30 and there will be mingling and some light refreshments until the presentations start at 09:00.
The program will consist of presentations from subject matter experts, followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Dagmar D. Egelkraut (CeSam).
The event is open to everyone, and we encourage students to attend.
Presentations
Legal challenges and policy in relation to offshore wind energy - Ignacio Herrera Anchustegui will talk about the role of marine/maritime spatial planning and how sea conservation and sustainability is becoming a more prevalent topic in his field of work.
The EcoMap project and species distribution modelling - Joachim Paul Töpper from the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research will present his work on the EcoMap project - modelling ecological state and condition maps to support knowledge-based decision-making in area management and spatial Planning.
Gardening the Globe-project - Marit Ruge Bjærke will present the "Gardening the Globe-project, which is a four-year, interdisciplinary research project that examines historical processes through which nature has been conquered, controlled and commodified in Scandinavia from the mid-18th century to the present. The project will investigate cases related to three themes: 1) processes of moving animals, plants and minerals; 2) practices of eradicating organisms; and 3) the human production of landscapes.
