Hovedinnhold

Why do we feel excited, afraid, and frustrated by algorithms? This is a key question Minna Ruckenstein seeks to answer in her new book, The Feel of Algorithms. Minna Ruckenstein is Professor in Emerging Technologies in Society at the University of Helsinki.

Is it possible to combine the use of technology with a feminist ethics of care? Ingvil Hellstrand's work in the project Caring Futures: Developing Care Ethics for Technology-Mediated Care Practices aims to find out.

Are fear and anxiety making us long not just for a technological solution but for a technological saviour? That's one of Jill Walker Rettberg's arguments in her new book, Machine Vision: How Algorithms are Changing the Way We See the World. Jill Walker Rettberg is Professor of Digital Culture and Co-Director of the Center for Digital Narrative at the University of Bergen.

This event offers a 20 minute presentation by each speaker followed by a conversation. It is jointly organised by the Center for Digital Narrative and the ERC project Machine Vision in Everyday Life.
