Norway's Fisheries Minister Visits
Fishery Minister, Per Sandberg, visited the Norwegian Ocean Laboratory today. Researchers from the Centre for Geobiology (CGB) were on hand to welcome him, and to share highlights from their deep sea research activity.

The Norwegian Ocean Laboratory opened 30.5.16. The infrastructure is a collaboration between the University of Bergen (UiB), the Institute of Marine Research (IMR) and theNorwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI). Learn more. It manages a growing collection of specialised, state-of-the-art marine exploration and sensory equipment, including the new deep-sea ROV, Ægir 6000. High resolution video footage from CGB’s summer cruise provided an inspirational marine back-drop.
Sandberg was in Bergen for the Seafood and Health Conference 14-15- September, sponsored by the Norwegian Seafood Research Fund. He was also able to visit an number of UiB’s marine centres and research units, including 2 Centres for Research-based Innovation Sea Lice Centre and Ctrl Aqua, and ILAB.
