In competition with over 80 contributors, David Mukunya et.al’s poster about the CISMAC Clorhexidine-study was awarded the prize for best poster at the GLOBVAC-conference 2017
In his poster, Mukunya presents the findings of the qualitative components of the CISMAC study on the effects of washing the umbilical cord stump with chlorhexidine to prevent infections among newborns. Mukunya has explored how practices related to the care if the umbilical cord stump in the study area may act as barriers or facilitators if the use of chlorhexidine in cord care should be rolled out in the community.
