Our research is primarily based on the Universitymuseum of Bergen's collections, the archaeological, ethnographical and the other cultural-history collections. The research is thus completely integrated in the museum’s other activities such as field work, collection, conservation and communication.
The research shall contribute to understanding and communication of the collection’s significance, and also challenge the present perspectives of our prehistory, history and present time.
As an interdisciplinary institution, an important task of the Universitymuseum is to stimulate research where cultural sciences and natural sciences, methods and perspectives supplement each other.
There were spontaneous festivities in the Nepalese village of Okharbot after the film Tama Gaun – the copper village. An collaborative project between anthropology and archaeology
