Concepts

In interdisciplinary research, shared concepts are ways to establish a common ground and advance knowledge. However, they can also be a source of misunderstandings.

Disciplines apply specific concepts in their pursuit of specialized knowledge. Even when the same concept is used, what it means and what it can do can differ between disciplines, geographical contexts, and historical periods.

In this section we invite our collaborators and contributors to reflect on their use of key concepts in migration research, and how the creation, development and continuous refinement and reflection of concepts can serve as an interdisciplinary methodology.
