Are you interested in understanding:
- How the limits on migrants' and refugees’ rights affect their social lives, future imaginaries, and their sense of mobility?
- How migrants and minorities mobilize against precarious living conditions and various forms of racial and material injustice?
- The strategies differently situated migrants, including refugees, develop to overcome the uncertainty related to being ‘on the move’ and in an in-between space, plus many more interesting themes...
If yes, we would love for you to join us at the Nordic Migration Research Conference as a volunteer between 14-16 August 2024 at the Grand Hotel Terminus-Bergen.
Volunteers will have free access to the conference, including:
- Keynote speeches
- All workshop sessions
- Reception hosted by Bergen Kommune at Håkonshallen!
- Conference dinner
In addition to the valuable technical experience and networks gained during the conference, you will receive a recommendation letter from the NMR organizing committee.
We specifically need your assistance in:
- Setting up the venue and arranging event props
- Registering conference participants
- Distributing conference materials
- Answering queries about schedules, locations, and sessions
- Assisting panel chairs with set-up and audio-visual arrangements in collaboration with venue hosts
- Coordinating meals and breaks
Ideally, you should be available for an average of 7 hours across the three days of the conference.
