Torhild Nordveit

Faculty of Law

Hovedinnhold

Torhild Nordtveit is a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Law. She achieved her PhD in 2021 on a thesis on transferal of debts (discharge of debts by novation). In her current research, Nordtveit participates in the FME HyValue, which is funded by the NRC and led by Norce. HyValue aims at developing a hydrogen value chain. The research combines administrative and private law with the laws of energy, climate, and environment, and is interdisciplinary not only within branches of law, but also across faculties. Nordtveit has a varied background, having studied in both Norway and Germany, and having worked in the public administration and as a private consultant before and after finishing her PhD.

Nordtveit’s research interests fall mainly within the scope of private law and methods of law, including the limits that public and EU/EEA law set for private regulations. Her research efforts include the methodological approach to energy law, state aid and investments in green technology, and the results of insolvencies and how to plan for them.
