David Fredman has a PhD from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, did a postdoc with Boris Lenhard, and previously worked as an Assistant Professor at the at the Department of Molecular Evolution and Development, University of Vienna, with a focus on evolution of gene regulation with particular regard to basal animals (sea anemones, jellyfish, and corals).
Ksenia Lavrichenko got her M.Sc. in Mathemathics from the University of Bergen and is currently pursuing her PhD. She is working on visualization and graph topology analysis of pathways, regulatory networks and chromatin interaction data.
Gunnar Schulze has a M.Sc in Bioinformatics from the University of Potsdam and pursues a PhD, studying the evolution of gene regulation and developing methods for sensitive contaminant detection in sequencing data.
Karolina Smolinska is a PhD student at the Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice, Poland, and is a visiting researcher in our lab this spring.
