How to apply for exchange

1. Go to Søknadsweb's login page.
2. Choose International Applicant (do not select Feide).
3. Log in with your email address and the password sent to you by email (do not select "register new international applicant").

Complete your profile in Søknadsweb:

1. Personal information: If you are not directed immediately to the page for completing your profile, you will find the personal information in "My profile" section from the top menu.

2. Home address and phone number: It is important that you register your complete home address and phone number. Do not use P.O.box or your university address. 

• street address and house number
• postal code/zip code, city name and state/province
• country
• mobile phone number

N.B. Exchange students can ignore the message regarding "Entrance requirements" (It is not registered that you meet the minimum entrance requirements for admission to higher education in Norway).  

1. Choose the relevant faculty and semester(s).  

Your choice(s) will depend on the agreement your home university has nominated you on. Erasmus+ students will only have one choice. 

2. Select courses according to the instructions given at Søknadsweb

Before you apply for courses, please check the course list for exchange students. Here you will find information about course codes, course content, prerequisites, etc. for each course. 

We expect you to take courses according to the agreement you have been nominated on. It is however possible to take additional courses at other departments or faculties, depending on your academic background. 

UIB offers open and restricted courses. In your online application you only apply for restricted courses.

If you are planning to take open courses, you register these courses when you get access to UIB's online registration system (Studentweb) in June. You also apply for Norwegian language courses after you get access to Studentweb.
