Personal info

I am Leonidah Nemigisha Musoke, a PhD Student at the College of Education and External Studies, Makerere University; I have a masters' degree from the Norwegian School of Sport Science; I hold a Bachelor of Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE). I am a registered Secondary School Teacher by the Ministry of Education; and after my master's degree I got a part-time job at the Sports Science Department, Kyambogo University; and finally joined Makerere University in 2011 up to date. I have also supervised research and school practice, both at Kyambogo and Makerere University.

My research Topic: STRATEGIES FOR ESTABLISHING GENDER RESPONSIVE PEDAGOGY IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASSES IN PRIMARY SCHOOL IN CENTRAL UGANDA.

I have written, defended and submitted my proposal to the Directorate of Graduate School, Makerere University in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the award of the Doctor of Philosophy.

My research is in Physical Education and Gender; and my research questions are:

  1. What instructional methods, and practices do teachers and learners employ in the pedagogy of P.E in primary schools in Central Uganda?
  2. What is the nature of the learning activities (Content) for Ugandan Primary School Physical Education Curriculum?
  3. In what kind of environment does the teaching and learning of Physical Education inCentral Uganda take place?
  4. What strategies can be identified for establishing gender responsive pedagogy in Physical Education Classes in Primary School in Central Uganda?

This study will employ the Qualitative methodology.
