Personal info

My name is Lydia Basemera. I hold a Bachelor of Teacher Education, Diploma in Primary Education, Certificate in Primary Education, Uganda Certificate of Education, and Primary Leaving Certificate. I have taught English Language and Music Education for thirteen years in primary schools and three years in college. During these years, I have mentored pupils and student teachers in theory and practical skills and general pedagogy for teaching music to pupils. I have also given support supervision, guidance in the interpretation of the music curriculum, and mentorship to practicing teachers on pedagogy and music education teaching across the primary section.

 

Project info

Master of Arts in Music Education at Kyambogo University. My topic of research is: Quality Teacher Educators For Sustainable Music Education In Teacher Training Institutions. My field of study is Music Education and the and the research questions include:

a) How is music education perceived by both student and practicing teachers?

b) What is the relationship between students' background and their performance in music education?

c) How can music educators sustain music education in the contemporary education system in Uganda?

 

The research will be qualitative in nature, using auto-ethnographic approach, interview, and observation to collect data.
