Topic

The effect of GeoGebra on students understanding of Geometry in selected primary Teachers colleges in western Uganda.

Research Objectives

1. To find out the effectiveness of GeoGebra on students understanding of Geometry as compared to the conventional approach.2. To examine students attitudes towards the use of GeoGebra in the learning of Geometry.3. To find out the technical challenges in using GeoGebra to learn Geometry.

Research questions

1. What is the effectiveness of using GeoGebra on students understanding of Geometry as compared to the conventional approach?

2. What are students attitudes towards the use of GeoGebra in the learning of Geometry?

3. What are the technical challenges in using GeoGebra to learn Geometry?

Methodology

The study will use a quasi-experiment research design where a pre-test will be given to students for both experimental and control groups, then experimental group will be introduced to GeoGebra and the control group continue using conventional methods and a post test will also be given to both groups to check if there is a difference between those who learnt Geometry using GeoGebra as a software and those who didn't use it.

Questionnaires will be designed, validated and their reliability will be determined before they are used to find out the attitudes and the technical challenges associated with using GeoGebra in learning Geometry.
