Postdoc Maria Lie Lotsberg
Born 1989, holds an MS in Nanoscience from UiB. She did her PhD in the Lorens and Akslen groups, working on the role of AXL and the tumor microenvironment in cancer cell plasticity and therapy responses in models of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Currently she is a postdoc in the Lorens group.

Maria Lie Lotsberg completed her PhD at the University of Bergen April 29th 2019. Title: "The role of AXL and the microenvironment in cancer cell plasticity and therapy responses. A study in non-small cell lung cancer models". Supervisors: Professor James B. Lorens, Professor Lars A. Akslen and Researcher Agnete S.T. Engelsen.
See press release.
Maria is now a CCBIO Postdoctoral Fellow working in the Lorens group, and her research is focused on identifying biomarkers reflecting the microenvironmental complexity of human cancers, the interaction between cancer cells and the microenvironment, and how this influences aggressive tumor features and patient prognosis.
