Runar Stokke from the Center for Deep Sea Research is leading a new project that received research fundings from FRIPRO (Norwegian Research Council). The project, called Deep SeaQuence, integrates metagenomics and metatrasncriptomics with cutting-edge microscopy to identify microbial processes and find bioactive compounds. Other members of the project are Ida Helene Steen, Håkon Dahle and Eoghan Reeves, all linked to the Center for Deep Sea Research. The project starts in 2021 and will last 4 years. We wish them good luck and we are looking forward for exiting results.
