Women's health in a life-course perspective
On March 21, 2025, the University of Bergen (UiB), the HR Department organized an engaging half-day seminar on women’s health from a life-course perspective. The event, held at Storsalen, Nygårdsgaten 5, was supported by Driv – Center for Women’s Health Research and KLAR.

The seminar addressed key topics related to women’s health and the work environment, featuring engaging presentations by Bergen researchers affiliated with KLAR and Driv: Inger Haukenes, Silje Mæland, Anita Silden Prante, and Anette Fagertun. Among the highlights were:
Gender perspectives in working life: How gender differences affect career opportunities and working conditions.
Challenges of menopause: Research on how menopause impacts women in the workplace and what employers can do to support them.
Gender differences in sick leave: A critical reflection on national data showing distinct patterns in sick leave between women and men.
The KLAR project: A presentation of this unique collaborative initiative working to improve women’s health in the workplace.
International recommendations: How organizations and leaders can adapt to the needs of menopausal women, based on global guidelines.
Nina Grytten Torkildsen from Driv provided an overview of the center’s work and emphasized the importance of integrating women’s health perspectives across all life stages. The event served as an important reminder that women’s health is not just an individual responsibility but something entire organizations must take seriously.
