The title is "ADHD medication discontinuation and persistence across the lifespan: a retrospective observational study using population-based databases" and is published in Lancet Psychiatry, 2023.

As many as 60% of those between the ages of 18-25 who start ADHD medication stop within a year. In the transition between children and adults, between the ages of 18 and 19, the vast majority quit.

Isabell Brikell and her colleagues have collected data on ADHD prescriptions from around the world. Among others from Scandinavia, the USA, Hong Kong and the Netherlands. The study is part of a larger EU Horizon 2020 project, where they look at various aspects of ADHD medication across countries.
