The National PhD School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (NPSPS) was established in 2013. All five pharmaceutical educational institutes in Norway participate in NPSPS, which purpose is to create a network for PhD candidates, their supervisors and research groups in the pharmaceutical field.

NPSPS aims to strengthen the pharmaceutical PhD education through several measures:

  • Provide high level PhD courses
  • Improve internationalisation by offering travel stipends to outbound NPSPS-members and inbound guest lecturers
  • Arrange a yearly meeting for PhD students and supervisors in all disciplines related to pharmaceutical studies
  • Make scientific equipment from the consortium members available to all PhD students
  • Encourage students to present their own research and build professional networks
  • Present quick-courses for a variety of relevant themes, including presentation techniques, grant writing and paper writing

Scientists, researchers and PhD candidates who are interested in pharmacy-related studies but work primarily in chemistry, microbiology, medicine and community health are also welcome to join.
