Speaker: Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. Vera Regitz-Zagrosek
Vera Regitz-Zagrosek is a cardiologist and founder of the Institute of Gender in Medicine at Charite, Berlin, and of the International Society Gender Medicine (IGM). She is a pioneer in implementation of sex and gender in medical research, teaching and practice. She has published more than 300 scientific papers and coordinated 3 gender related European projects, EUGENMED - Roadmap to Gender implementation in Biomedicine, EUGIM -European Curriculum in Gender Medicine, and GENCAD - Gender in coronary artery disease. She has been the Anna Fischer-Dückelmann visiting professor at the University of Zurich since autumn 2019, and is also a senior professor at Charité University Medicine in Berlin.
She will talk on how sex and gender modifies health and disease with a focus on cardiac disease in a translational perspective. This is a unique opportunity to discuss sex and gender modification of cardiac health and disease with a world leader in the field.
