After a security drill, dinner and a short briefing from the leader of the cruise, Haflidi Haflidison, the cruise is heading towards the field of Vigrid on the Vøringplateau. The weather is beautiful, the ocean is quiet and the sunset is amazing.
Like last year the cruise is visiting Vøringplateau to take sediment samples from the structure of the Sea-floor. During the trip out to the plateau, the geologist will register the profile of the sea-floor, the upper 80-100 meters, with help from the penetration echo-sounder called TOPAS. The work of the scientist is now basically sedentary watching the monitor.
