Another day with more samples
06.08.2008 A little rain in the morning, but the weather stay calm throughout the day. More discoveries were made today, which made the geologists happy. During the night the TOPAS profiles ran through most of the pockmarks. With Berit and Mats monitoring, they made 100 km of mapping.

From the morning of the ROV wore set to photograph and film the seabed. Thereafter there were taken new samples - again......... The microbiologists are running out of storing equipment for their samples, and today they also wore "sent" away from the laboratory. The truth is that they were ensconcing in the laboratory yesterday, then the macrobiologists were not able to do their job.

A lot of the participiants look forward to have permanent land under their feets. One and another are also feeling the homesickness. Yet all agree that this has been fun to be part of, despite there sometimes have been hectic and a lot of work. Periods with little sleep, a lot of sea and the high level of stress are quickly forgotten, especially since there have been achieved good results.
In one of the day's gravitycore, the geologists found what they've been looking for a long time, gas hydrates. Frida-Lise is also pleased with today's measurements. She has found a lot of methane gas in a layer which is located about 250 meters down. To sum up; another day with a lot of sampling, and this time with very gratifying results
