Tiny tubes point to ancient life

The article reports on work that has been fine tuning the dating of the biosignatures found in ancient pillow lava structures in Barberton, South Africa. Daniel Fliegel is the first author of the work published in Earth and Planetary Science Letters entitled "In-situ dating of the Earth's oldest trace fossil at 3.34 Ga".
Fliegel was a researcher at CGB when he carried out this work and continues to collaborate with CGB researchers, including Nicola McLoughlin cited in the BBC article, Harald Furness, who first published about this phenomenon, and Jan Kosler.
