ArcGIS Training Course
Main content
The course will be held on Thursday the 14th in the GeoBio seminar room, and will run from 1000-1500 with a break for lunch.
Prior to the course all participants must have a working copy of ArcGIS 10. For PC users and Mac users that are dual-booting or virtualizing windows the software can be loaded via the following methods:
For PC users on a University owned computer go to https://bs.uib.no to file a BRITA request for the software to be installed on your machine. The machine must be connected by hard cable or VPN to the university network.
For PC users on a machine not managed by the university, Mac users with a dual-boot/virtualized machine, or for a license useable outside the university network, you must manually download the software and install it. Employees can download ArcGIS at:https://tjinfo.uib.no/program?F_dir=ArcGis_Ansatt
Students can download ArcGIS at: https://tjinfo.uib.no/program?F_dir=ArcGis_Student
For both options it is still necessary to request a license code through BRITA at https://bs.uib.no I strongly recommend carefully reading and following the installation instructions, as the license manager for ArcGIS is hard to use.
Mac users must either set up a dual-boot system with an OEM copy of windows or find a PC to use for this course.
Alden Denny will be available if there are any issues with software installation. He strongly recommends that you have the software installed by this Thursday so that there is time to deal with any installation issues that may come up.
