About the institution:
MCT is a world-leading hub for development and implementation of low- and zero-emission solutions for the shipping industry. MCT was established in 2011 and was part of the national cluster program until 2021. MCT is registered as a non-commercial membership organization with around 150 partners covering the entire maritime value chain, including research and education institutions as well as public institutions. The collaboration includes suppliers of green energy, technology, shipping companies, shipyards, and authorities that approve new solutions before market introduction. The partnership has driven forward by groundbreaking technologies and solutions that are key to accelerating the transition to an emission-free maritime industry.

MCT has initiated several projects that have received funding from Innovation Norway, regional and municipal governments, the Ulla-Førre Fund, Enova, and the EU. We work strategically with technology and market development in multiple international projects.

Internship at Maritime Cleantech:
At MCT, students can gain experience in project development, project management, project financing, reporting, and organizing events, seminars, and workshops. A significant part of our work is also directed towards political authorities, providing information, input, and assessments of political decisions. Students can participate in meetings and activities we conduct with both industry and politicians. Each year, we also organize several major conferences and gatherings, as well as company visits and webinars, which students can help organize and participate in.
