Pets at the workplace
Pets are not allowed in UiB's buildings.
Main content
Employees, students, and visitors are not permitted to bring dogs or other pets into UiB's buildings.
Allergens from the animals' fur, sebaceous and salivary glands, and urine can trigger allergic reactions.
The Working Environment Act establishes provisions aimed at minimizing the risk of employees becoming unwell due to their work environment.
Since UiB is an educational institution, this also applies to students.
Guide dogs and service dogs
Guide dogs and service dogs are allowed in accordance with the Equality and Anti-Discrimination Act.
Therapy dogs
The use of a therapy dog requires certification, that it is equipped with a harness or other service indicator, and that it has been cleared with the administrative manager of the unit in question.
