Research Education Committee

The Research Education Committee and the supervision committee at the institute are responsible for the daily follow-up of PhD candidates. Their goal is to ensure academic quality, feasibility, consistent support throughout the study, and equal conditions for all PhD candidates, regardless of their supervision committee or research groups.

Main content

The committee handles:

  • Applications for admission to the program and recommends them to the faculty
  • Applications for extensions in the program and recommends them to the faculty
  • Significant changes in the PhD agreement that affect the implementation of the project or the training component
  • Proposals for the assessment committee and recommends them to the faculty

The committee is responsible for:

  • Integrating and evaluating all elements that are part of the training component
  • Reviewing and following up on the annual progress reports, both the research project and the training component
  • Conducting the mid-term evaluation
  • Preparing an annual education report that shows key figures and provides a status update
  • Setting the topic for the trial lecture and approving it
