The project will explore novel user interfaces for decision support based on artificial intelligence, so-called intelligent user interfaces.
Main content
When you contact the local emergency call centre the telephone operator uses a decision support system to decide how urgent your condition is and how you will be helped. Such decision-support systems are based on standardised symptom presentations and do not accommodate easily when cases stray from the typical patterns. The systems often work best if the operator asks for information in a fixed order, something that can restrain the conversation and at worst cause the operator to miss out on important information. Here there is room for improvement, and in this project we will explore novel user interfaces for decision support based on artificial intelligence, so-called intelligent user interfaces.
In UiB the research is connected to DARS and in NORCE to RE-AIMED: Readjusted responses by use of AI in medical calls.
