The lecture centres around her research and teaching on law and legal institutions, especially the behaviour of judges.
Lee Epstein is the Ethan A.H. Shepley Distinguished University Professor at the Washington University i St. Louis, serves as Lecturer in Law at the University of Chicago, and as Principal Investigator of the U.S. Supreme Court Database project. She has authored or co-authored over 100 articles and essays and 17 books, most recently An Introduction to Empirical Legal Research (with Andrew D. Martin).
The Rokkan Lecture is an annual event by the Department of Comparative Politics. Since Erik Allardt held the first Rokkan Lecture in 1981, the lecture has drawn thirty-four leading social scientists to hold relevant lectures in Bergen.
