About Prof. Goksøyr's research:
My MSc (1984) and PhD studies (1987) in biochemistry at UiB led to fundamental insights in the cytochrome P450 system of fish and whales, which were poorly studied at the time. My research has since focused around marine environmental toxicology, biomarker development, endocrine disruption, and ocean health. In 2016-2021, I was PI of the large interdisciplinary NFR project dCod 1.0: decoding systems toxicology of cod (Gadus morhua) – environmental genomics for ecosystem quality monitoring and risk assessment, and this year we are moving our attention to marine mammals in the Marma-detox project (Whales and polar bear in a petri dish: Decoding marine mammal toxicology through in vitro and in silico approaches (NFR, 2023-2027).
