Jo Røislien - Does the measurement device measure what it is supposed to measure?
Main content
Researcher Jo Røislien, Norsk Luftambulanse and University of Oslo
Clinical practice is full of measurements that need to be done manually; a task that can be both time consuming and imprecice. From the viewpoint of a statistical detective, the talk explores how to evaluate whether a newly developed automated algorithm for localizing tumors on a radiological image can replace trained radiologists, when the ground truth is unknown. The talk is based on methodological research to appear in Statistics In Medicine.
The event starts with a snack and refreshments in advance of the lecture that begins at 16.15.
The lecture is open to all. Welcome!
The lecture is a joint event by the Horizons lecture series and Department of Informatics.
