Rules and regulations for Master degree programmes - Deadlines, leave of absence, part-time studies
Master's programmes are regulated by the supplementary regulations for degree studies at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

The official length of a full-time master programme is 2 years (120 credits), with a submission deadline for the thesis. Master's programmes consist of two parts, a theoretical part with courses totaling 60 credits, and a Master's thesis of 60 credits. Some programmes also offer a shorter 30 credit thesis, with a theoretical curriculum of 90 credits.
Students can apply for leave of absence, part-time studies and extension of the submission deadline. The deadline for submission of the thesis, and any agreements on part-time studies or leave, are set in the Master's degree agreement between student, supervisor and programme board.
