We are pleased to have two exciting presenters at the Pandemic Breakfast on March 20.
Senior Consultant Mari Asphjell Bjørnaas holds a Ph.D. in clinical toxicology, is a specialist in internal medicine, and is a chief physician at the National Treatment Service for CBRNE Medicine, Oslo University Hospital.
In January 2025, she wrote an op-ed in the Journal of the Norwegian Medical Association about Preparedness with an Expiry Date. In it, she writes that it is paradoxical that we build up emergency stockpiles without considering their impact on nature and the environment.
Samantha Vanderslott is an Associate Professor and Career Development Fellow in health sociology at the Pandemic Sciences Institute and Oxford Vaccine Group, University of Oxford. Her research concentrates on understanding key themes determining vaccine support and opposition, particularly highlighting advocacy/activism and addressing questions about public policy and media representation of vaccination.
