The Lipid Research Group has keen interests in conducting research in lipid metabolism and mitochondrial function. The group is lead by Prof Rolf Kristian Berge.
Research Infrastructure
The Lipid Resarch group has collaborations and funding on a national level and international level.
The research group has established an extensive network of collaborating research groups at a national and international level through the participation in EU funded and other international research projects. At the Nordic level Prof RK Berge has been the project leader for MitoHealth, one of three “Nordic Centre of excellence in Food, Nutrition and Health”. This center had 8 partners from Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway.
At the regional level the group has a close collaboration with Prof Jan E Nordrehaug and Prof Ottar Nygård, Bergen Cardiology Research group (BeCaRe), section of cardiology and with Prof Tom H Karlsen, section of gastroenterology.
