Research

Margrethe Raspotnig is doing research on the target antigens in paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration. With her background as a resident in neurology, she is interested in the clinical aspects of paraneoplastic neurological syndromes and research involving human samples.

Projects

  1. Investigate the expression pattern of cerebellar-degeneration related proteins, the target antigens for the immune response in paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration.
  2. Study the immune response in patients with specific types of cancer related to paraneoplastic neurological disorders, ie small-cell lung cancer and ovarian cancer.
  3. Make a biobank consisting of samples from patients with paraneoplastic neurological syndromes and non-paraneoplastic autoimmune encephalitis.
