POTENT will be hosting two interesting guest lectures in the autumn semester of 2024. First, our member Massimiliano Demata from the University of Torino, who will come to Bergen on 15 August to participate in a day seminar for POTENT members, will deliver the lecture “Conspiracy theory as anti-discourse: society, science, education”. This guest lecture, taking place at 10:00-11:00, will be open for all via Zoom (please find link in Calendar). Second, on 19 September, Frank Serafini from Arizona State University, will visit the UiB and give a lecture entitled “Reading the Visual: A Framework for Exploring Visual Images and Multimodal Phenomena”. This lecture, which is arranged in collaboration with the research group Aesthetic and Cultural Studies, will take place in Auditorium Q, Sydneshaugen skole, at 12:15-14:00. All interested are welcome. Please see Calendar for additional information.

In October, POTENT has the pleasure of welcoming four lecturers and researchers from University College Copenhagen (Københavns Professionshøjskole), on occasion of an ERASMUS-funded visit to the University of Bergen. POTENT has organized a seminar day to present and discuss ongoing research projects with our colleagues from Copenhagen, and our visitors will also be invited into a lecture in a literature course.
