Sample Delivery Requirements

If you are a first-time user of PROBE or are working with a new sample matrix, please contact us briefly before sample preparation. This will allow us to discuss the most suitable protocol for your samples.

Generally, we prefer to receive samples that are digested and desalted, ready for LC-MS analysis. If you would like us to handle the digestion and sample preparation, please ensure that the samples are lysed and provide us with the protein concentration. Additionally, include an aliquot of the sample buffer used for lysis. For standard digestion protocols it's enough to provide 30µg of protein

For most samples, a lysis buffer of 4% SDS in 0.1M Tris-HCl pH 7.6 is effective for complete lysis. Downstream processing can then be performed using the SP3 protocol.

We do not process radioactive samples!
