The impact of blue-enriched light on waking function in simulated night shift work

Main content

My student scholarship project aims to investigate the impact of blue-enriched light administered through ceiling mounted Light Emitting Diode (LED) room lighting during simulated night shift work. The study will investigate effect of three consecutive nights with high-temperature blue-enriched white light (7000 K, 200 lux) compared to three consecutive nights with warm low-light (2500 K, 200 lux), on waking function during the night shifts and on subsequent sleep. Polysomnography and a battery of cognitive tests will be used.

The scholarship is a part of the project “Consequences of night shift simulation on waking performance, sleep, circadian rhythmicity and brain function”.
