Breastfeeding: Crucially important

But why are less than half of the babies worldwide breastfed according to WHO recommendations?

Despite the contribution of breastfeeding to a healthy, secure, and sustainable food system, less than 50 % of infants and young children worldwide are breastfed in accordance with the recommendations from WHO. In comparison, more infants and young children are receiving commercial milk formula products than ever.

Determinants of breastfeeding across all levels, from the structural to the individual, and how we can create an enabling environment, will be discussed.
