Students with special needs

If you have a disability and require special arrangements, please contact the Faculty of Social Sciences by sending an email to advice@svfa.uib.no as soon as possible. The Faculty of Social Sciences can assist you in finding solutions to enhance your learning environment experience.

Special arrangements for examinations

The special arrangements are meant to compensate for disadvantages such as illness, injury or disability, enabling candidates to be tested as equally as possible. You find all the necessary information here.

Welcome week at the Faculty of Social Sciences

Before your studies start, we are arranging a week of activities for you to get to know your peers, UiB, Bergen, and Norway! The welcome week is a great opportunity for you to have a social and exciting start to your stay in Bergen. You will be assigned to groups led by students at UIB, who will guide you through a program specifically designed to welcome our international students. There will be activities for everyone, whether you prefer long hikes, picnics, or parties.

The welcome week is an excellent opportunity to get to know both your new international peers and Norwegian students. Participation is voluntary but highly recommended.  A registration form and the programme has been sent to your e-mail.

On Friday, August 9th, there will be a quiz for international students at the Faculty of Social Sciences. The event will take place at the student house ‘Kvarteret’ in the room called ‘Storelogen.’ Save the evening for some quizzing with your new peers.

Learning Agreement

We prefer to sign the Learning Agreement in the EWP (Erasmus Without Paper) Dashboard. If your home institution does not use this tool, you can send the Learning Agreement to our information centre via email, advice@svfa.uib.no, or obtain a signature in person.
