EU projects - Periodic Report

For projects funded under the EU programmes (FP7, H2020, …) , periodic reports are obligatory and consist in interim evaluation checkpoints to monitor the project’s progress and decide on its continuation or final funding

Hovedinnhold

According to the most recent reporting guidelines published on the EC participant portal, the functionality of periodic reporting will be activated on the participant portal at the end of each reporting period and will typically be open for 60 days. The periodic report consists in 2 main parts: the technical report (="scientific report" - itself divided in Parts A and B) and the financial report. While the periodic report functionality is activated, the project participants will be able to: complete on-line their own Financial Statement (and the financial report of their Third Parties, if any) including the explanations on the use of resources  and upload the narrative, free text part (part B) of the periodic technical report ("scientific report") as a pdf document. When the coordinator submits the periodic report, the IT tool will capture the information from the continuous reporting  module in order to generate the Part A of the periodic technical report.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH REPORTING 6 MONTHS BEFORE THE REPORTING PERIOD ENDS. For this, we refer our readers to the “Grant Management > Reports and Payment Requests” section of the H2020 Online manual   and recommend clicking on the “How-to” green button whenever more IT support is needed.

As a supplement, and based on the experience of the Forum for Scientific EU project managers, we provide:

1) Tips and comments regarding the online manual and core report template

2) Examples of how to coordinate reporting (timeline and task assignments)  from different projects
