Hovedinnhold

Notify the National Population Register

  • If you're moving, you must send a change of address notification to the National Population Register. Follow the instructions and submit the form found on the webpage of the Norwegian Tax Administration (skatteetaten.no).
  • You can send the change of address notification as early as 31 days prior to moving, but no later than 8 days after you’ve moved.
  • Both public and private sector organisations use information from the National Registry and are dependent on the National Registry containing accurate information.
  • We recommend that you always use your private e-mail as contact information.

New address

  • You must also notify the postal services of your new address (posten.no). This will ensure that your mail is forwarded to your new address the first two months after your move.
  • Be careful to notify all your professional and private contacts of your change of address. Update your address in DFØ self-service portal.
