Visible Teaching and Learning: A Catalyst for Shifting Perspectives on Learning

This exciting instance of the TeLEd Monthly Event Series will feature Isabela Darcie, a PhD candidate in that Program for University Pedagogy in the Department of Education at the University of Bergen. She is also a charter member of the TeLEd (Teaching and Learning in Higher Education) research group. Her research focuses on the experiences of teachers and students with assessment and active learning in higher education. She is particularly interested in the relationship between assessment and learning with emphasis on personal reflections and the development of critical thinking.

In this presentation, Darcie will delve into the experiences of teachers and students engaging with active learning in higher education. By making teaching and learning processes visible, fostering reflective practices, and implementing small classroom interventions, she explores how these strategies can be a catalyst for shifting perceptions of learning. Through this lens, she highlights the importance of critical thinking and how intentional pedagogical choices can transform the educational experience, equipping students with the dispositions necessary for lifelong learning and adaptability.
