Muhammad Azeem Qureshi has a Master and a Phd in System Dynamics and is currently working as an Associate Professor of Finance at Oslo and Akershus University College in Oslo, Norway.

Why did you choose to study System Dynamics?

For a better understanding of the complex and interconnected world around us.

What are your fondest memories from the time you spent studying System Dynamics at UiB?

Six years' stay at System Dynamics Group of UiB not only provided me lifelong learning but also lifelong friendship with many wonderful people from different parts of the world.

What was the topic for you Master Thesis and Phd? 

MPhil thesis: Firm value management - A System Dynamics Approach

PhD thesis: Financial Policy Structuring for National Development Planning

Where are you working today?

I am working as Associate Professor of Finance at Oslo and Akershus University College, Oslo, Norway. I am teaching courses in corporate finance and international finance. I am trying to use System Dynamics to better explain intertwining nature of corporate financial policy to my students of business administration. Moreover, I am using this method in research.

How has your education been relevant for you in your working life?

System Dynamics helps me better understand the complexity of business finance that enables me to simplify these concepts for my students.

Would you recommend others to take a degree in System Dynamics? And if yes, why?

I would definitely recommend a degree in System Dynamics at UiB for two major reasons: one, it is an effective cross disciplinary approach to better understand complex problems in any field of study; and two, highly qualified, dedicated and friendly faculty.
