Exemption from employer liability
Chronic disease
In case of long-term or chronic illness that entails a risk of particularly high sickness absence, the employee or the employer may apply for NAV to cover sickness benefit during the employer period.
Pregnant worker
The employer may be exempted from paying sick pay during the employer's period if an employee is on sick leave due to pregnancy-related illness and facilitation or relocation to other work is not possible.
