Bookitlab

Bookitlab makes it easy for students and researchers to find and use instruments. You can search across UiB, and you can also search for instruments at NTNU and UiO.

UiB, NTNU and UiO has a common bookingsystem for research infrastructure called Bookitlab

  • The system supports booking and administration of instruments and research infrastructures
  • You can make reservations, loan equipment, order services and consumables from laboratories.
  • Bookitlab is integrated with UiB financial system (Unit4 ERP). Projects are collected from Unit4 and invoicing is automated.
  • The system gives a good overview of instruments and services both within and across the universities

Who can start using BookitLab?

All core facilities and laboratories at UiB can use Bookitlab. Please make a request via UiBhelp to get a demonstration and more information. Bookitlab may increase revenues for the core facility. 

What is needed to enroll your core facility into Bookitlab?

Before you can start, administrators of the core will get 3 x 2 hours education during a few weeks. We will go through all parts of the system and set up the system to fit your needs.

All administrators participate in the Microsoft team Bookitlab for Administrators. The team is both for information sharing and collaboration.

Projects managed by UiB may be self-financed or externally funded. Project owner should fill in this form and send to your project economist.

If projects is managed outside of UiB it is external sale (i.e. HelseBergen). Project owner should fill in this form and send to bookitlab@uib.no.

Are you a user/student/project manager and shall use BookitLab?

You log on to Bookitlab with your Feide user. Please read the user manual.

In order to make a reservation, you must be affiliated with a project. It is the project financial consulants in cooperation with the project owner who establish projects in Bookitlab and enroll users to projects. 

Projects managed by UiB may be self-financed or externally funded. The project owner is asked to fill in the form and forward this by e-mail to the nearest project economist.

Projects managed outside UiB - external sales (eg HelseBergen). The project owner is asked to fill in the form for external projects and send it to bookitlab@uib.no.
