Announcement - Election of Members for the Department Board at Department of Earth Science (GEO)

We want proposals of members to the Department Board from all groups. Check description on how to propose below.

Please vote on the norwegian page (Click "Norsk" in upper right corner of this page) in the voting period May 21st to 23rd .

The proposal must have been submitted no later than deadline March 19th 12:00.

• The proposal must be in writing.
• The proposal must be signed by at least the same number of proposers as the number of candidates the proposal contains.
• The proposer(s) must be entitled to vote in the election. No one can sign more than one proposal.
• All proposed candidates must be eligible.
• If any candidate is entitled to exemption from election, a written consent from the candidate must be attached to the proposal.
• Candidates must know Norwegian well.
• Submit your scanned proposals to both gry.parker@uib.no (secretary) and andrea.grimnes@uib.no  (contact person at Dep. of Earth Science).

(Proposals are accepted in February-March every year for the group that is to be elected. Current information will be distributed to voters)

You can vote if you fulfill the following requirements:

Group B: Temporary academic staff employed in a minimum 50 % position for the coming 12 months or staff that have been consecutively employed for at least 12 months.

Group D: Students who are registered as a student and have paid their semester fees for the semester the election takes place, are entitled to vote.

Gruppe A (permanent academic staff - 4 members and at least 2 deputy members 

Gruppe B (temporary academic staff incl. research fellows) - 1 member and at least 2  deputy members

Gruppe C (Technical/administrative staff) - 2 medlem and at least 2 deputy members

Gruppe D (students - 3 members and at least 2 deputy members

The Department Board have in total 11 members. In addition to the ten members that will be voted for in this election, the head of Department is a member and also the leader of the Board.  The Deputy for Head of Depratment is also the Deputy for the Head of Department in the Board.
